DosePlanner™ saves money by reducing the need for labels. For example, instead of requiring separate production runs to create individual labels for each prescription in a patient’s profile, the software can print a single summary label that contains each of the prescriptions being delivered in a single medication blister card. These summary labels can also be used for labeling boxes used for multi-med pouch-packaged medications.
DosePlanner software helps remove human error from the pill counting process, but it doesn’t remove the potential for the patient to mistakenly take a prescription intended for their spouse. By using the Patient Photo ID option, it becomes easy for the patient or their caregiver to identify which medication card belongs to whom.
In addition to Patient Photos, DosePlanner can print the image of each medication along with the medication description. This feature benefits pharmacies at large but is especially helpful for pharmacies that serve skilled nursing facilities. Many residents at these facilities lack the awareness to point out prescription errors. Printing a drug image assists the patient and the caregiver in helping to identify which drug is being administered at each dose time.
DosePlanner software is easy to understand. Learning to use the program involves a small learning curve and requires minimal training. For more information, please contact our Sales department at 860-584-2284.
